1. REA: 185,274 GitHub stars in 182 days

OPEN SOURCE · AI Agents · scored 6.3/10

Its GitHub description reads: “Reverse engineer anything with agents, from app behavior down to native binaries.” The GitHub API counted 185,274 stars on Oct 13, about 1,018 a day since it was created, and it turned up in 3 of the 13 creator feeds we watch since Sep 9. 2. OpenAI's dots give Pro and Business Premium users an always-on agent with its own cloud computer that connects to over 4,000 apps

AI NEWS · Sep 29 · openai.com

Dots run on GPT-6 Astra, each with its own cloud computer and browser, and work toward goals 24/7. Through OpenAI's plugins a dot can connect to over 4,000 apps; you reach it in ChatGPT, Slack, Teams or by voice call. A founder already on Pro or Business Premium gets a background agent for follow-ups like unsent invoices at no added plan cost; set a Custom Rule that requires approval before anything is sent. If you use OpenAI, read the announcement itself, Introducing dots (OpenAI, 29 September 2026), and our ChatGPT review.

3. ECC: 278,207 GitHub stars in 268 days

OPEN SOURCE · AI Agents · scored 8.1/10

Its GitHub description reads: “The agent harness performance optimization system.” The GitHub API counted 278,207 stars on Oct 13, about 1,038 a day since it was created, and it turned up in 3 of the 13 creator feeds we watch since Sep 9. AI NEWS · Sep 29 · about.fb.com

New connectors: Asana, Box, Canva, Dropbox, Figma, Granola, HighLevel, Intuit QuickBooks, Klaviyo, Lovable, Notion, Shopify, Slack, Stripe and Zoom, plus Facebook and Instagram business accounts. Muse is a personal AI agent available in the US and Canada; custom connectors cover services Meta does not support yet. A shop owner who runs on Shopify, QuickBooks and Instagram can hand Muse the monthly expense check and a draft ad campaign without paying for a separate agent tool. If you use Meta, read the announcement itself, The Future Is for Everyone: Muse for Small Business (Meta Newsroom, 29 September 2026).

What we could not verify

We left out odysseus-dev/odysseus, which shows 93,164 GitHub stars, because its forks per star (0.017) sit under 0.02, the line where our intake holds a repo for a human check. 3 smaller trending repos were held for the same reason. We held back Claude Mem: a creator we watch raised a data-sharing concern about it that we have not been able to check yet (its README, read Oct 13, does not mention telemetry either way). One creator video cited a third-party test of token-saving coding skills (Caveman, RTK, Ponytail) that we could not find, so none of its numbers appear here. Our score for each of the 1,709 tools measures what a careful reader can check: public pricing, documentation, maintenance, and for open source the GitHub record. It does not measure whether a tool is pleasant to use or right for you. How the score works.
